Raw Protein Balls

These protein balls are amazing. They were one of the first raw clean treats that I made and showed me how delicious a combination of fruits and nuts can be!
The beauty of these raw bites is that they are ready whenever you fancy one, either as a clean treat or even for a quick breakfast if you haven't got time to prepare anything.

They are kept in the freezer so they will last a good while (that's if you have eaten them all before frozen!)

Ingredients:

50g (1/2 cup) organic rolled oats
92g (2/3 cup) cashew pieces
20 x walnut halves
180g dates
2 tsp agave nectar/ maple syrup
2-3oz warm water
Optional: 2 dsp protein powder of your choice

Topping:
30g flaked almonds

Instructions:

1) Blend together the cashews and oats.

2) Then add the walnuts and optional protein powder, blend again until fine.

3) Chop the dates up into smaller pieces (to help the blender if it not so powerful) then add and blend.

4) Add the remaining ingredients of water and agave/ maple syrup (add more or less water depending on consistency.

5) The aim consistency is that on the final blend the mixture comes together in a dough like ball.

6) Divide the mixture into 10 and roll into even size balls and refrigerate while preparing topping.

7) A quick blend of the flaked almonds until they are smaller pieces (not until fine) then roll the balls in the almonds until covered and them freeze on tray (not touching) until frozen which is approx 4 hours.

8) Add to a freezer bag and then tuck in whenever you wish!!
